In honor of his Final 4 berth -- "22" questions
Location: BlogsBlogsDrew Forrester's Blog, sponsored by Koons Ford Security Blvd

So with yesterday's romp over Ray Lewis (76%-24% is a thrashing in my book), the great Jim Palmer has moved into the Final 4 of our Toyota Live Web KOBS tournament.

In honor of #22, here's a Wednesday offering of 22 questions.

Fire away.  Ask a question about anything and I'll answer it.  But, but, but...you can't ask me whether or not Terrell Suggs should report to camp on Friday.  Of course he should.  He, along with the rest of the players in the league, signed off on the "franchise player" concept during collective bargaining -- therefore, he should man-up and follow through by being in uniform on Friday.  He won't show though.  Attorneys run the NFL and the players don't have enough gumption to do what's right -- they'd rather listen to their agent instead.

Questions?

Hey Drew, i saw that you played in a golf tournament at Clifton park a month or so ago. What did you think about the course? The kind of shape it was in, how good did the greens roll thanks. (DF: I actually just played there on Saturday in the qualifier for the Match Play Championship. Considering we haven't had much rain over the last month, it was in good shape and the greens were decent. No complaints...)

Drew: What was your thoughts on the coverage of last weeks British Open by ABC & Paul Azinger? (DF: Lousy. Does that sum it up? I know they use the BBC feed, so part of their coverage is dictated by what they're given by BBC Sport, but I want to see people actually PLAY golf when I'm watching it...too many stories, too many taped segments about Ian Baker Finch and, in general, not enough focus on LIVE golf. As for IBF, I think he does a nice job - most of the time - but if I had $10.00 for everytime he said, "When I won this tournament back in '91", Ethan's first year of college would be paid off already. Someone should have told him after Thursday's broadcast -- "Ian, we KNOW you won in '91...stop mentioning it." Azinger is REALLY good, although some of his thoughts these days are tempered by his Ryder Cup captaincy.)

Drew, I heard one of ESPN's reporters remark that he expects the Browns to finish 9-7, beating the Ravens twice and the Colts this year. What do you think?? (DF: Sounds reasonable to me. I think the team that wins the AFC North will go 9-7. And, it could be the Browns. And, they certainly COULD beat the Ravens twice in doing so.)

Re: In honor of his Final 4 berth -- "22" questions    By Andy on 7/23/2008 7:08 AM

So who was the celebrity caddie you had for your big match at Mt. Pleasant last week? (DF: Former WJZ-TV sportscaster John Buren was on the bag..."I have a new respect for the guys who carry a bag on TOUR" he said to me as we walked up the 5th fairway! lol)

Re: In honor of his Final 4 berth -- "22" questions    By Bernie on 7/23/2008 7:25 AM

Who wins a match between you, Bill Gombert, Rick Sovero and Joe Franz (with no strokes)? Also, is it my igamination or are there a lot more commercials during the British Open than a normal golf tournament? (Guess they need to pay for all those transatlantic flights?) (DF: Well, all three of those guys are highly accomplished players. But I don't know who would win in a match because...well...that's why you actually PLAY a match. I don't think any of the guys at Birkdale thought Greg Norman could beat THEM for three straight days but he did. I've played with Sovero A LOT in various tournaments. He's one of the best amateurs I've ever played with/against.)

Re: In honor of his Final 4 berth -- "22" questions    By Jack in Highlandtown on 7/23/2008 7:12 AM

I heard you going toe to toe with that guy who called in about David Duval yesterday and I was wondering what you have against Duval? Did he beat you in a golf tournament or something? (DF: I was always a BIG Duval fan...MAJOR LEAGUE Duval fan...but he can no longer compete with the top players in the world. And, so, when he finally does well in an event like the British Open last week, I'd rather not him hear chastise members of the media who gave up on him in 2002 when his game fell apart. In golf, you either make birdies and compete, or your game dictates that you're an afterthought. I found his "behavior" last week to be laughable considering he hasn't been on a leaderboard in 7-8 years.)

Re: In honor of his Final 4 berth -- "22" questions    By Michael from Catonsville on 7/23/2008 7:58 AM

Drew, pitchers cannot bring their own baseball to the mound. Quarterbacks cannot pass with their own football. I always wondered why golfers can hit their golf ball of choice. Why is there no "official" golf ball of the PGA? Doesn't this prevent a level playing field? What are the major differences between the different types of golf balls? Thanks. (DF: I don't really think there's that much difference between the golf balls. I don't disagree, by the way, that "one ball" would be an acceptable way to eliminate any debate about the ball making a difference, but I've played them all - Nike, Callaway, TaylorMade, Srixon and Titleist - and I don't find much of a difference, really.)

Re: In honor of his Final 4 berth -- "22" questions    By uriah on 7/23/2008 7:11 AM

Hey Drew, what do you think has a better chance of happening this season for the Ravens? 6-10 or 10-6? Thanks! (DF: If they still relatively healthy, they have a much better chance of going 10-6 than 6-10, despite the fact that they have a very tough schedule. Look at last year: They went 5-11. They lost 9 starters to injuries and had no real quarterback play of note. And yet, they lost a game to Cleveland when their field goal kicker hit a game-winner off the goalpost and the stantion that will NEVER happen again in the league...they lost a game when their Hall of Fame kicker missed a 42-yard FG in OT (unthinkable for him) and they lost a game in Cincinnati to start the season when Todd Heap was called for pass interference on a play that no referee in the league would have called -- except for the guy who called it that night. They coulda, shoulda, woulda have been 8-8...and they STUNK last year. I don't see them going 6-10 this year and I don't see them going 10-6 either, but I think they have a better chance of going 10-6 than 6-10.)

Drew: Not sure if you mentioned this on the show, but what did you think of Michelle Wie's disqualifiction last weekend? Does the LPGA need to change archaic rules, or was Wie guilty of stupidity? (DF: It's all on HER...anyone who has ever played a golf tournament knows you have to have two signatures on your card and turn it in to the officials at the scorer's table. The rules aren't
