We don't even know if the Brett Favre talk is real. For all we know, it could all be rumors.

However, when talk such as this begins, we start to examine our own situation to figure out whether or not it can improve with a player such as Favre.

So, I ask, do you think a player like Favre would help the Ravens? Has all of the Favre talk goten boring?

The Ravens drafted a quarterback in April to be "their guy." I believe we will are better served to move forward with our plans.

Rob, we are better served to move forward with our plans. However, Flacco should NOT play this year. He should hold a clipboard his first year like Carson Palmer did. With that being said, you can't tell me that Favre would not be an upgrade over Boller and Troy Smith.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By MRL the Pearl on 7/8/2008 3:54 PM

The Ravens are perennially a quarterback away from greatness. Presuming his return is a formality, Favre is coming off one of the best seasons of his illustrious career, with a chip on his shoulder and a passion to win. I truly believe, for a one or two year period, Favre is the missing piece.

I'm sorry, but anyone who feels the Ravens are better served by a lame-duck third-string Kyle Boller than a first-ballot HOFer with some gas left in the tank is missing the point. The AFC North is up for grabs! The division is winnable. Our schedule is favorable. Our defense will be a terror. Our offense has loads of potential.

Hell, I'm still flabbergasted that the Ravens won't replace Boller with Daunte Culpepper. Favre is a no-brainer. And he sure as hell isn't going to Chicago or Minnesota.

I'd take Favre for a year or two in a heartbeat, even if simply to stave off the calls for Flacco for a year or so.

My question to MRL and Michael. I don't question Favre's talent. That would be foolish. MRL, you said, "...a passion to win. The guy came off a season in which he was three points away from the Super Bowl and quit. Is that passion? He quit. You get no argument on the other comments.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By KZ on 7/8/2008 4:35 PM

Part of me says no chance in hell...cue Mr. McMahons music....that oart wished the Packers would say OK Brett come back and then make his quitting ass sit on the bench for the year...the logical part of me says...Farve is better the Boller...so why not...Flacco could learn for a year, but then what happens after the year...do we then have to live through the is he coming back..isn't he crap...I would rather not be a hostage thank you very much...

The Ravens could not achieve greatness with Montana,Staubach or Marino in there primes. This is not a good team but WE HIRED A HALL OF FAME COACH? What nimrod made that silly remark? That would be THE OWNER.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By Bubba1290 on 7/8/2008 4:46 PM

Rob

It would be great to see Favre in a Ravens jersey. He reminds of the old school QB's. Today on the show you said no to Brett Favre bu would welcome Mick(dog killer) Vick. WHAT THE ---- WHY WOULD YOU PICK THAT Piece of human garbage over Favre. Once Vick gets out of jail he will be hanging with his posse and going back to his old ways.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By rob on 7/8/2008 4:51 PM

Bubba. Come on, man. I never said I'd take Vick. In fact, if you're wondering, I wouldn't. He's not a franchise quarterback. He's a great athlete. I don't know where I'd play him.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By Bubba1290 on 7/8/2008 8:22 PM

Sorry Rob. When I hears Vick's name my temper gets the best of me. As of dog lover and owner of two great dogs I cannot forgave him. Bring on Favre, I have two Favre Jerseys

Re: Do You Want This Man... By castle1 on 7/8/2008 8:22 PM

yes yes yes yes.

Flacco needs to sit behind a veteran. We all lived through the Boller experiment. Things would have been very different with a Neil O'Donnell for two years. That being said, would you prefer that veteran be a HOFer like Favre or some booze hound like Vodka Collins.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By rob on 7/8/2008 8:26 PM

No big deal Bubba. I can understand. Thanks for taking your time to comment. Castle1, I'm with on with the O'Donnell comment. That's exactly who I asked for at the time. If you remember, and I'm sure you do, O'Donnell was released by the Titans at the time. He was later picked back up by the team, but he was available. Favre would be a good addition, only if he really wants to play. I'm tired of the Favre retirement talk. Either you want to play, or you don't. It's not like this is the first time we've linked retirement talk to Brett Favre.

Re: Do You Want This Man... By Jarrod, Abingdon on 7/9/2008 8:56 AM

As of now Rob the Brett Favre talk is pure speculation, but I think we all know that #4 will more than likely be sligning the Pigskin somewhere come September. Its my opinion that there is too much smoke in this situation not to have fire somewhere . First it was Favre agent "secretly" contacted the Packers about the possible of Brett haveing the "itch". But personally Rob I won't get caught up in the Brett Favre to Baltimore talk...For one what makes any of us think a 38 year old Brett Favre wants to stand behind an OL who is now replacing a guard and their LT, which is argubaly the most two important spots on the OL. Your offensive line in the National Football League makes or breaks a football team as well as how an effective a QB can be. Period. Just ask Tom Brady how he felt in Arizona last February. Some have mentioned that Brett Favre's best chance to win would possibly be with the Ravens!? I disagree wholeheartly. Do we forget that Brett Favre was an interception away from leading a young Packers team into Arizona? Do we all think that the Packers would actually cut ties with one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, and certainly a first ballot HOF who everyone in your town worships? I wouldn't wamt to be there PR guy he may not be able to sleep at night nor would Ted Thompson. When September rolls around or even late July for that matter I honestly believe Brett Favre will be wearing the yellow, and green up in Wisconsin. So I totally agree with you Rob the Ravens should move forward with Their plans. Love the show keep up the good work
